Formerly known as Sandersville City Cemetery, Old City Cemetery was established in 1831. On the grounds, visitors can view extravagant 19th and 20th century funerial art. This cemetery is the final resting place of missionaries, soldiers, prohibitionists, business leaders, and a Georgia governor. This location is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Washington County Historical Society has hosted many events at this location, including picnics and night-time lantern tours.
